USTMA Consortium

Drs. Mazepa and Cataland formed the United States Thrombotic Microangiopathy (USTMA) Consortium in 2014 as a grassroots effort to organize research efforts in the thrombotic microangiopathies.

The USTMA now incorporates 15 large US referral centers with:

  1. a large referral base of patients with TMAs

  1. a minimum of 1 site leader with a career interest in clinical/translational research in TMA and

  1. adequate clinical/translational research facilities and resources to participate in these research activities.

There exists a strong sense of collaboration and cohesiveness among the group.

Due to the limited access to research funds the USTMA is unable to provide indirect costs for studies.
