Yazan Abou-Ismail, MD

Yazan Abou-Ismail, MD (Mouhamed Yazan Abou-Ismail) is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies. He specializes in treating non-malignant hematologic disorders, with special clinical interest in disorders of hemostasis and thrombosis, in which he has authored many peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Abou-Ismail's clinical and research interests include thrombotic microangiopathies such thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, immune-mediated disorders of coagulation, myeloproliferative neoplasms, as well as transgender hematology. Dr. Abou-Ismail earned his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medicine in Doha, Qatar in 2014, and then completed three years of Internal Medicine residency training at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, New York. Afterwards, he completed three years of Hematology and Oncology fellowship training at Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland, OH, where he was the recipient of the 2018 Harris Foundation award for hematology fellows.
